Deep tissue massage targets chronic tension in muscles that lie far below the body's surface. Deep muscle techniques involve slow strokes, direct pressure or friction movements that go across the muscle grain.
The Swedish massage is one of the most common types of massages you can get. It is performed to energize the body and improve overall health. This type of massage involves actions like percussion, kneading, vibration, tapping and rolling. Massage oil or lotion is used to protect the skin from friction.
Cupping therapy is an ancient healing method that may ease back pain, neck pain, headaches and other issues. It uses suction to pull on your skin and increase blood flow to the affected area. Cupping causes bruising and can lead to skin infection.
Sports massage is a deep form of soft tissue mobilisation. A sports massage can be applied in a sporting and non-sporting context. Sports massage involves a wide range of techniques that include effleurage, kneading, wringing, hacking and trigger pointing.
Prenatal massage therapy addresses different needs through varying techniques, one of which is called Swedish Massage. Swedish Massage aims to relax muscle tension and improve lymphatic and blood circulation through mild pressure applied to the muscle groups of the body
Postpartum massage is a full body massage that can help ease women into motherhood by offering both physical and emotional benefits. If you've had a miscarriage or unsuccessful delivery (stillbirth), you may also want to consider postpartum massage to help your body recover.
Baby massage is the gentle, rhythmic stroking of your baby's body using your hands. As part of a massage routine, you might gently manipulate your baby's ankles, wrists and fingers. "You might also talk softly, hum or sing to them while massaging to create a sense of calm and reassurance for your baby.
A body scrub is a physical exfoliant that is usually either salt or sugar-based, used to remove dead skin cells from your skin. The abrasive ingredients (sugar, salt) are worked into the skin and work as a natural exfoliant, clearing the skin of older skin cells so your skin feels soft supple and nourished.
Waxing is the process of hair removal from the root by using a covering of a sticky substance, such as wax, to adhere to body hair, and then removing this covering and pulling out the hair from the follicle.
A pedicure is a cosmetic treatment of the feet and toenails, analogous to a manicure. During a pedicure, dead skin cells are rubbed off the bottom of the feet using a rough stone (often a pumice stone). Skincare is often provided up to the knee, including granular exfoliation, moisturizing, and massage.
A manicure usually consists of filing and shaping the free edge of nails, pushing and clipping (with a cuticle pusher and cuticle nippers) any nonliving tissue (but limited to the cuticle and hangnails), treatments with various liquids, massage of the hand, and the application of fingernail polish.
My partner and I have had two couples massages here and both have been wonderful! The location is clean and relaxing. The staff makes you feel comfortable and the communication was great. I'm sure we will return soon.
One of the best massages I"ve ever had. Not all the frills of other places but my masseuse got alot of places I"ve never had anyone else get. And I have 2 blown disc and sciatica. Will definitely be back.
I absolutely love Nels Massage Spa. I've seen a few of the therapists there but have ultimately settled on Nelly and she's phenomenal. The perfect amount of pressure and a great atmosphere. She's very responsive and incorporates some guided stretching. Absolutely highly recommended.
